Week 3 with baby Jenna and 7 years of Marriage

We are into week 3 with baby Jenna, and she is great! She rarely cries and loves for the girls to hold her. McKell has gotten much better with her and is less jealous. Morgan is a great helper. We ventured out twice this week. First we went to story time and it was a blast, Jenna slept so it was nice and easy. Our other adventure was to go to Henry's Ark (a local petting zoo) McKell and Morgan loved this and it was all fun until one of the goats came out to eat carrots and celery that we brought, this scared McKell so bad that she started to scream and this woke up baby Jenna and she started to cry. Before I knew it all girls were crying or clinging to my legs so we headed home. It is amazing how 3 minutes (walking from the goat to the car) can feel like eternity. Luckily for us it was sunny 3 days this week so we were at the park each day. We are so glad we have a park 200 ft away it makes the day much easier when we get to go and play. This week morgan has been obsessed with the Let it Go Frozen Song sung by Lexi Walker (at the bottom of this post) so she has dressed up almost every day and been singing it, I need to video it because it is adorable! Jenna doesn't really like to sleep for more than 2 hours, so I am a little tired but at least she is really happy, and only stays awake for about 1 hour at 4 am during the night.

Oh yeah, Danny and I have been married for 7 years now! We celebrated last month since we knew the baby would be new and I would be tired. We went to Village Anchor and the food was amazing! So glad that I have such a great supportive husband that works hard for our family.

10 days old

Well Jenna is 10 days old, and times flies, I can't believe it at her 8 day appointment she was already past her birth weight. She weighed 7.7  and was in the 50% for everything. She is so far the largest of our kids since most of the time they are always in the 25%. She is a very good baby, she doesn't cry much unless we are changing her diaper. She sleeps pretty well, so far the transition has been harder for the girls. Morgan and McKell have been pretty good and have gotten better day by day. McKell really struggled the first few days, she loves the baby, but doesn't love when I am feeding her. The weather has been pretty crazy here in Kentucky with it being so cold and snowy and icy we haven't ventured out as much as I would like. We have gone out on two walks and it makes me excited to be able to go out everyday.

McKell is getting better at talking but still likes to speak on her own terms. She loves to dance and jump and is such a joy. She is either an angel or very difficult.

Morgan has made leaps and bounds in reading since my mom came. She also love to play the games my mom bought while she was here. Morgan is getting so good at gymnastics, I love to watch her do the bar (she can do a hip circle, plus other stuff I don't know what they are called). She even did a backbend kick over by herself on the ground! She started doing Gold Team and loves it.

Danny has a tough semester ahead of him. It is nice to have him available to us this last week, it made for naps to be possible which makes me a much nicer mom.

I am recovering amazingly well (I can't believe how much faster you recover when you don't tear at all). I feel great and am getting smaller every day.

A New Baby 2.5.2014

Well it finally happened on February 5th 2014 at 6:57 we welcomed Jenna Elizabeth Snyder into the world.  She was 7.4 lbs and 20 inches long. She was born with a full head of dark brown hair.

My appointment when they told me I was a 5.5. How can do you be a 5.5 and not in labor!

Finally being admitted!

Did you see that black/dark brown hair? Wow!

Meeting the baby for the first time!

My amazing mom, who has really helped Morgan excel in reading.
Morgan had such a wonderful time with my mom it was so fun to see them read, play games and enjoy each other.

Morgan is so excited to be a bigger sister. She loves to sing to the baby.

Here is the birth story. On January 28th I woke up at 4:00am with painful contractions about 8 minutes apart. After about an hour I was able to fall back asleep. My other girls woke up around 5:45 and we got the day started but I felt disgusting and was still having contractions. I called my friend Erica Haskell to watch the girls so Danny and I could go to the hospital and have a baby!  (Sidenote: On the 26th of January I had a Doctors appointment and they told me I was dilated to a 4.5 so I was nervous to let the contractions get to intense since I live 20 minutes from the hospital). We headed in around 9 and when I got there was still having  contractions about 8 minutes apart, but they were not as painful but I still felt really sick. Anyways after being on the monitor for an hour my dilation didn't change any so the nurse said to go home and they would probably see me later that day. I was really surprised they sent me home but I thought I would be back later that day. Well my contractions became less and less and before I knew it I was picking my mom up at the airport on friday still with no baby. I was shocked. I made it to my next doctors appointment and was a 5.5 (Monday Feb 3rd). I couldn't believe I passed my due date (Feb 2nd) and I didn't realize you could be a 5.5 and not be in labor. Since my mom was only here till Sunday Feb 9th, I was really hoping they would induce me. But to my luck my insurance wouldn't do it till I was over due by 1 week. Wednesday morning I woke up and was having contractions but they didn't hurt at all. I was having them every 5 minutes, probably once an hour I would have kind of a painful contraction. I kept expecting them to really hurt. Danny was going to stay home but since I had a false alarm the other day I didn't want him to miss school if I wasn't really in labor. My mom and I decided to head to the hospital around 9:45 but on our way my contractions started to be farther apart, so we decided to go to story time near the hospital instead. During story time I only had 4 contractions, I was starting to think I was never going to have this baby. Since the contractions were less often we decided to head to the mall and still be close to the hospital. We picked up a few things for my mom and dad and then my contractions (still not painful) started happening every 5 minutes again. So I called my Doctor and asked what I should do. They told me to go in since I was dilated so much. When I got to the hospital I was really nervous they would send me home again. When I went in she checked me and I was at a 7.  So she said they would keep me, I was so excited to have this baby. I called Danny and he headed to the hospital. I went into the hospital around 12:00, and I got to my room around 1:00. She said if the doctor had a break he would come over and break my water and then things would happen fast, if he didn't have a break he would come over around 5. Well she checked my at 4:30 and I was an 8 and still didn't have much pain. She told me I should try going natural since I didn't have much pain. I thought about it, and then I decided to have the epidural just incase. At 5 she came in and said the girl next door was getting an epidural so she would have them just come and do me after. After I got my epidural she checked me again (around 6) and my water broke while she was checking. She called the doctor and he said he would be on his way. The nurses for the baby were there and my nurse was there and the doctor had walked in and was getting ready, the nurse asked me to push once to see how things were progressing and then she said stop and I could feel her holding the baby in, the Doctor got on his gloves and said push and Jenna entered the world. BEST DELIVERY EVER! and the greatest part was I didn't tear. So far Jenna has been an amazing baby. We are so glad to have her in our family.

Well I took off almost a year of blogging, but looking at my sisters blog has made me hope to be able to start it up again. I love looking at Morgans book I made from the blog so I hope to try and update once a week on Sundays.
