Morgan already knows how to fold her arms. (Whitney Johnson is holding her)

Her long toes!

Another Sleeping Picture

Her first bath, she didn't really enjoy it, but today she liked her second bath.

What an adorable little girl!

We have a few funny stories that have occurred since Morgan was born.

Story #1
I didn't realize that when you have a baby, your stomach does not just go back to normal and that you stay pretty large appearing like your 5 months pregnant still. I was not losing my stomach very quickly and I was a little embarrassed by my bulging stomach. Danny, Kylie, and Cassie all play on the same soccer team and they had a game on Saturday, I decided that Morgan and I should go (it is indoor soccer). I didn't want anyone to see my large stomach so I wore a jacket that covered it, but since I had Morgan in the baby Bjorn I didn't think I had to worry about anyone noticing my stomach. When we got to the soccer complex I was sweating from walking 4 blocks, and I was sweating a lot, so I decided that it didn't matter if my stomach was big or not I had to take off that jacket. So I placed Morgan on a blanket on the ground and took my jacket off, and just played with her while watching the team do well. I was sitting near the players on our team and a new sub came off, I said good job and he looked at me and then looked at the baby and said "Who's Baby is that, you obviously haven't had yours?" and that is when I realized maybe I should have kept my jacket on.

Story #2
After feeding Morgan a few days ago I gave her to my mom to burp while I wrapped everything up. Morgan was wearing a sleeper with an elastic bottom. As she burped her my mom said I think Morgan just went the bathroom will you check as I stretched the elastic band, I noticed that Morgan's diaper wasn't where it was supposed to be it was around her ankles and yes she had gone to the bathroom, but it was all over her onesie, sleeper and blanket.

Story #3

Uncle Nathan was holding Morgan and I was telling a story about her first bath. I was stating that she was not really enjoying it and as soon as she finished and we wrapped her up in her bath towel she peed everywhere. As I stated that Morgan got a huge smile over face as if she knew what we were talking about and had done it on purpose.

Marilyn Hofer Snyder

Many people have wondered why we chose to give Morgan the middle name of Marilyn. So I (Danny) thought that I would do a post dedicated to her namesake. I was blessed with having the greatest grandmother anyone could ever ask for. Though she stood at a mere 5 feet tall, in regards to the life she lived she stood high above the rest. She was what you would call a modern-day pioneer. Shortly after marrying my grandpa, she had 6 kids in less than 6 years (one set of twins). My grandpa was inactive in the church and so my grandma would get those six kids ready and take them all to church by herself each Sunday. Thanks to her persistence, her sons and grandsons and granddaughters have taken the message of the gospel to Japan, Argentina, Brazil and various parts of the US. She never gave up on my grandpa though, and shortly after my parents were married, thanks to a diligent wife and set of home teachers, my grandpa became her most important convert of all. They later served a mission together on welfare square and worked in the Bountiful Temple for ten years, filling the hardest slot of the week (Friday and Saturday nights). My grandma was always very active. She played softball, exercised regularly, tended her garden constantly, and even helped my grandpa build my aunt a house (a project the two of them alone completed over a four year period). When my aunt finally moved into the house, the neighbors asked her, "What happened to the nice old couple who built this house? We heard they died." HAHA! I never once heard my grandma complain. As she laid in the hospital, just days before her death, she used her last words to make sure that everything was taken care of for the family Thanksgiving dinner. She passed away on November 18, 2008. The funeral was beautiful, as not a single negative thing was said about this kind, extraordinary woman. Her bishop shared the lyrics from a song from the play Wicked and I close my thoughts with those same words:

I've heard it said
That people come into our lives for a reason
Bringing something we must learn
And we are led
To those who help us most to grow
If we let them
And we help them in return
Well, I don't know if I believe that's true
But I know I'm who I am today
Because I knew you...

It well may be
That we will never meet again
In this lifetime
So let me say before we part
So much of me
Is made of what I learned from you
You'll be with me
Like a handprint on my heart
And now whatever way our stories end
I know you have re-written mine
By being my friend...

Like a ship blown from its mooring
By a wind off the sea
Like a seed dropped by a skybird
In a distant wood
Who can say if I've been changed for the better?
But because I knew you
Because I knew you

I have been changed for good

In need of a little sleep

Morgan finally asleep this morning.
After a feeding she had quite the energy.

Yesterday, right after waking up from a nap. A very short nap.
Joel and Kristy sent us this wonderful wrap blanket, to bad she freaks out when her arms are tucked in.

I had planned on taking some wonderful pictures of our beautiful baby morgan, but she has not slept nor have I so you will just have to have some snap shots for the next few days until we are caught up.

On Wednesday we left the hospital and came home, which was wonderful, however I didn't realize how much Morgan moved and grunted while asleep. My idea to have her in our room only lasted one night, because she makes to much noise. Our first night home was not too good, Morgan got an upset stomach and could not sleep and would spit up anything fed to her. She is now doing much better and hopefully we will get caught up in sleep she only slept for 9 hours yesterday so hopefully she will be a zombie today. She did much better last night so let's hope for improvement in the next few days. But since she doesn't sleep she is alert and fun to look at, I love it when her eyes are big and she stares in my direction.

She's so cute

There is one happy dad!

Morgan's second cousin Maddie gets to hold her for the first time.

Tyson will be great dad someday, and this picture alone shows why.

When Morgan is awake, she is so content and alert. She loves to suck on her index and middle fingers, and just take in the scenery with wide eyes. We have been blessed to have such a well-behaved little girl. Hopefully that persists for the next 18 years or so.

Morgan Marilyn Snyder

Last night, we welcomed a new addition to our family. Morgan was born January 26 at 8:27 PM. We went into the hospital the night before only to be sent home shortly thereafter. We went for a walk the next day to try and help things along and that did the trick. I was admitted at around 2:00 already having dilated 5 centimeters. For about an hour, I battled on my own and then I received that blessed epideral. Things went very smoothly from then on. She crowned before the doctor could even get there and so Morgan chilled for about 15 minutes with her head stuck in the ring of fire. She had a nice cone head afterwards thanks to that. A few small pushes later she was out into the world. I guessed her height and weight exactly: 7 pounds 2 ounces and 20 inches long.

She had a little bit of a hard time breathing in the beginning, so they sent her off to the NICU to be treated by a respiratory therapist. My Aunt Megan works at this hospital as a respiratory therapist and she assured us that we were in good hands. It was a little sad to see her hooked up to all that equipment, but she was a trooper and was good to go down to the well-baby nursery after about an hour.

Though we welcomed the fact that she was being such a good baby, it was good to finally hear her cry when they gave her the Hep B vaccination.

She is the most adorable little baby girl ever. We are so happy to have been blessed with a healthy baby. She has already brought us so much joy.

Our Baby Could Come Soon

We are getting excited, for our baby Morgan to come! We went to our first prenatal class today. I watched a birthing video and I am not sure why they show them to you, it just makes you more nervous to have a baby. Even with watching that video we are still excited for her to come. I went to the doctor and am dilated to a 3 already, but the doctor said that doesn't mean she will come right away but she thinks I will have the baby a few weeks early.

Baby Thomas Mario Williams

My sister Kristy and brother in law Joel had a beautiful baby boy on Dec. 30th.
